Hello friends and welcome to a relatively small mod that I have decided to share from my collection of mods I make for myself. It is still in EARLY STAGE, and I haven't tested it other than on my computer. 
The mod currently adds a few 刚铎人 units from the Lord of the Rings to R2TW for custom battles only to the Rome and 塞硫古 factions (might need that DLC), including: 
-Gondor Swordsmen 
-Gondor Spearmen 
-Gondor Archers 
-Gondor Cavalry 
-Guards of Osgiliath (pikemen) 
-Citadel Guard 
-Fountain Guard 
-Rangers of Ithilien 
-Captain Mablung (trio entourage) 
-Captain Beregond (solo unit) 
-Lord Angbor of Lamedon, 'Fearless' (solo general) 
-Prince Faramir, Son of Denethor (solo general) 
 
^Currently needs 塞硫古s since I do use a few Eastern faction meshes (e.g. shields.) 
I intend to expand the roster by adding more units to Gondor, including: Ithilien Rangers, Swan Knights of Dol Amroth, Dor-en-Ernil Guardsmen, Lebennin/Pelargir Marines, Lamedon Longswords, Axemen of Lossarnach, Blackroot Archers, Gondor Squires, King Aragorn/Elessar, Prince Imrahil, a few low tier units, Elven faction, Isengard faction, and Haradrim faction. 
 
BALANCE: All the current units currently cost an insane amount, but compensates for a bit overpowered stats (haven't balanced it yet); I will fix this later, however, please note that in all accuracy, Numenorean/Medieval smithing and technology have the upper edge over the Roman world; therefore their armour and stats will generally be a bit better than the ancient elite. When I add other Middle Earth factions, they will then balance each other out with stats a bit better than the vanilla units. 
 
No campaign recruitment at the moment. This is because of these factors I shall pass on: I currently don't have the time; I intend to later make a few more units (such as elves and Isengard) for Atilla (and larger work might have copyright issues); and that my work will be made redundant by the upcoming Rise of Mordor modification for Atilla Total War. 
 
In light of this, I can relate the major problems currently: 
-Pauldrons rigging issue (they look sort of scrunched up) 
-Some clipping problems with zoomed out LODs and shield 
-Upper leg tunic have some rigging issues 
-Horse saddle texture has some problem for some reason when viewing up close 
-Some textures might be missing, since it is hard for me to figure out when they might be supplemented by files outside of my .pack. 
-Unit icons I will redo to show transparency (so you know if you've clicked it) 
Update 2.02 
-Faramir's face is very dark and has a pale glow- this will be fixed later 
-Cloaks have a tendency to clip when zoomed out due to LODs 
-Minas Tirith soldiers have rigging issues with their armour below the waist- this (and the original cuirass) will be fixed later 
Update 2.03 
-Ithilien hoods currently have very edgy textures due to problem with UV map; having a cur stage on a novice thing, if anyone can remind me that will be splendid 
-Texturing currently has ended in debacle after another, as I have a problem with photoshop changing all my colours and converting them to 16 bit. Thus I have used ONLY as a TEMPORARY, warman's hauberk from the Medieval kingdoms mod; next update, they will have custom textures and models (and the white tree leather jacket) 
 
Please give any feedback, I know this file may still contain problems or might not be expanded as much as you would like, and I will be able to make amendments to it for a short period. I am intending on making more units and factions for Atilla towards the end of this year and start of the next, but of course I am leaving room for the larger mod overhaul by the RoM team.

UPDATE 2.02 - TOWER OF GUARD 
-*3 new units added for Gondor from regiments within the walls of Minas Tirith! Includes Citadel Spearmen, Fountain Guard, and a new general Faramir (texture is bugged at the moment) 
-*shield texture has been fixed but replaced with a new model (old mesh will be used for later units) 
-*4 new cloaks have been added; this time hopefully with working textures. Thanks to LOTRO for inspiration on design as well. 
-*original 刚铎人 armour have had their specular and gloss maps redone! They should now look cleaner and more stark; although metal reflection is now a bit dull (this will be reworked constantly until there is a good level) 
-Angbor and Beregond are no longer faceless; they should have proper working textures. Their stats are also rebalanced to around the health of elephants, so they now need to be protected (if not, this will be fixed again) 
-Gondor saddles now have textures except for lod2, don't know why about that level of distance though:( 
-Gondor spearmen now have their formations based on mobile defence; the new elite units from Minas Tirith now have static formations (shield screen, squares, stand and fight) 
-Gondor swordsmen have had their attack doubled, then cut in half... and then slightly increased, followed by a slight decrease 
-Guards of Osgiliath have had their stats lowered slightly to compensate for the stronger Fountain Guard, although they now have longer pikes 
 
UPDATE 2.03 - SHADOW OVER ITHILIEN [BETA] 
-*2 new units added for Gondor from the Land of the Moon! Includes the Rangers of Ithilien, who are stealthy assassins under the leaves (high dps, glass cannon unit but can hide) and Mablung and his entourage of rangers (*see below) 
-*original 刚铎人 armour should have gloss maps fixed if they had a problem in the first place 
-*cloaks have had their masks (red overlay) fixed if they had a problem in the first place 
-Gondor spearmen now have their formation changed to shield wall to avert from the ancient cliches
-Generals now have a cap limit to them so you can't have 20 Faramirs on the battlefield (if there is a problem with not allowing you to spawn any generals, then it will be fixed) 
-Rangers of Ithilien have had their health increased to assist with their damage output 
-next update will include more bug fixes and the Swan Knights of Dol Amroth

TROUBLESHOOTING 
If you are having problems in custom battles, try setting yourself and the AI away from the Rome/塞硫古 factions in a vanilla game and run a battle once, then press exit (not alt f4) and reopen the game with the mod enabled. Try not to set the AI to Rome or 塞硫古 factions and see if it works first. 
If it crashes, maybe try disable all other mods first and rebuild your list of active mods by testing. If you are skilled with PFM or Assembly Kit you can try remove the custom battle permissions for the units for the 塞硫古 faction, see if that fixes anything. 
 
PLEASE DO NOT ASK, BUT THE SKIES ARE DARKENING AND I HAVE NO TIME TO UPDATE UNTIL AROUND CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR.
